Faith Eliott

Faith Eliott is a songwriter & visual artist. Born in Minneapolis, they moved to Scotland nearly two decades ago. Initially drawn to writing through poetry, Faith honed their craft in the Edinburgh DIY music scene, first singing backing vocals and performing in folk pubs before emerging as a distinctive songwriter. Their debut EP Insects was released in 2016, followed by the critically acclaimed album Impossible Bodies (2019) on OK Pal Records, the independent label they co-founded with musician Hailey Beavis. Deeply influenced by mythology, history, and the natural world, Eliott’s music blends narrative lyricism with atmospheric arrangements, creating a unique space where folk traditions meet contemporary sonic explorations.

dryas

Eliott's latest album, dryas, was released on May 31st, 2025 on Lost Map Records. It was recorded over two week-long sessions at The Big Shed in Perthshire. Eliott worked closely with longtime collaborator Robyn Dawson, who produced, engineered, co-arranged, and played strings. Other significant contributions were made by Signy Jakobsdottir (percussion) and Susan Bear (synths & bass).

The album builds on Eliott’s stripped-back, lyric-driven approach and expands to include orchestral elements, electronics, and found sounds. Named after an arctic plant which thrived at the end of the last ice age, dryas reflects on resilience, reassurance, and sweet release.
