Sian

Sian comprises three of today’s most exquisitely gifted Gaelic singers - Ceitlin Lilidh, Eilidh Cormack and Ellen MacDonald – accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Innes White.

With direct connections among the singers to Lewis, Skye and North Uist, their arrangements match deep feeling for tradition with stunning, boldly imaginative harmony work, which has seen them likened to The Staves and even Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

“At once both ancient and modern, and never less than remarkable.” – The National

araon

Sian’s sophomore album araon (“as one” or “in harmony”) was released in August 2025 and won Album of the Year at the 2025 Scots Trad Music Awards. Produced by band member Innes White alongside Innes Strachan (Niteworks, LUSA), araon blends traditional song and new Gaelic compositions with bold, contemporary arrangements. Described by Songlines as “a whirl of complex harmonies and rousing melodies” and by At The Barrier as “a masterpiece in any genre”, the album showcases Sian’s distinctive approach to Gaelic song.
