Pippa Blundell

Glasgow, Scotland is the gift that keeps on giving and Pippa Blundell is fast becoming one of its most captivating new voices. The rising singer-songwriter has already earned recognition from the Scottish Album of the Year Awards, Scottish Alternative Music awards and winner of the 2025 'rising star' in the Scottish Jazz Awards. Their album was hailed 2025 album of the Year on BBC Radio Scotland’s 'Roddy Hart' show and this year they were invited to perform with the BBC SSO as for their Burns night 2026.
Their music blends the intimacy of folk storytelling with ethereal textures and a classical vocal edge, drawing comparisons to Anohni and Jeff Buckley, with lyrics that navigate stillness, nostalgia and life’s chaos.

common thread

Pippa Blundell’s debut album ‘common thread’ documents a deep creative journey towards understanding what love is, with the 10 tracks balancing a celebration of the highs of a relationship, whilst also being a coping mechanism for her lows. She shares: “These songs explore the many ways we love. From the toxic kind, such as addiction and dependency, to the freedom of loving the simple and the mundane parts of our everyday life, the land, the nature and of course the people, and in the final track on the record – the self. common thread is the title because of this running link, all our experiences are woven together to make us who we are – the ugly and painful with the beautiful and loving.
